Police searching for man who cut off monitor, skipped court
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Monday afternoon were looking for a man suspected of
cutting off his electronic monitoring device.
Salvador Marquez, 24, was due in court at 9 a.m. Monday on charges of breaking into a motor vehicle, and felony larceny. Instead, police said, he cut off his monitor on I-485 at Steele Creek Road.
Marques was out on bond and had a previous probation violation related to robbery charges.
Police said Marquez should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at (704)336-VACT or call 911.
