  Reginald Martin

The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) is looking for Reginald Martin, described by police as a habitual felon who cut off his electronic monitoring device Saturday.

Martin is wanted on outstanding warrants for interfering with an electronic monitoring device, damage to property, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting serious injury.

He was last seen in the area of the CATS transit center in uptown Charlotte.

Martin was fitted with an electronic monitor on May 17 when he was released from jail on bond while facing armed robbery and assault charges.

Police said Martin has an extensive arrest history in Mecklenburg County, including charges for robberies, drugs and felony assaults.

Anyone with information on Martin’s whereabouts should call VCAT at (704) 336-VACT or call 911.

Martin is the 16th offender to cut off a CMPD electronic monitor in 2011. Police said less than 2 percent of the people fitted with monitors cut them off. All 15 of the previous offenders have been recaptured.
