Police seek help in identifying body found in '09

Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a man found dead Feb. 15, 2009, inside an abandoned house in the 3300 block of Darby Avenue in northwest Charlotte.

With help from a forensic artist, investigators today released a sketch of what the subject may have looked like.

Police believed he was an African American between 5-feet-7 and 5-feet-5 who weighed about 150 pounds and had a mustache with short black hair styled in a twist. The subject was wearing a camouflage green army-style jacket, dark-colored jeans, dark-colored T-shirt and white high-top Converse tennis shoes.The subject had only one lower front tooth.

Neighbors told police the subject may have gone by the nickname of “T-Bone.”. Residents also told police they believed the subject may have spoke with a speech impediment.
