Police seek suspect in Friday morning killing

Police in south Charlotte were conducting a manhunt late Friday morning, looking for a man suspected in a homicide.

As of 12:30 p.m., authorities had not identified the victim.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 30. He was said to be about 5-feet, six-inches tall and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a light colored shirt.

Police received a call for service at 10:20 a.m. in the 4500 block of Mullens Ford Road, not far from Charlotte Country Day School. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police brought in dogs and a helicopter to hunt for the suspect.
