Less than a week after police charged a 21-year old man with raping a woman in her east Charlotte home, authorities are seeking a warrant against the same man in another case of sexual assault.

Daven Lorenzo Teeter

In both cases, the incidents happened on Mission Hills Road, near the intersection of East W.T. Harris Boulevard and Idlewild Road.

In the first case, a woman called 911 to report that she had been sexually assaulted by a man who entered her residence on Mission Hills Road. After the assault, her attacker drove his victim to a bank and attempted to withdraw cash from her account using an ATM machine. The victim was released on Beatties Ford Road.

The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks who was wearing a white T-shirt and tan shorts.

The next day police arrested Daven Lorenzo Teeter and charged him with 1st degree rape, 1st degree sex offense, 1st degree kidnapping (2 counts), breaking and entering, armed robbery and communicating threats.

On Tuesday, police said they were seeking a warrant against Teeter in relation to an April 23, 2010 incident in which another victim was attacked on Mission Hills Road.

Police did not release details of the earlier attack but said that based on evidence collected in the case, Teeter would be charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree kidnapping, second degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering and attempted first degree sex offense.

Mecklenburg jail records show that Teeter has been arrested eight times since 2009, including charges of breaking and entering, resisting a public officer, trespassing, marijuana possession with intent to distribute, communicating threats, carrying a concealed weapon (a cutting instrument) and assault by pointing a gun.

Anyone with additional information about either case is asked to call Detective Carol Owens at 704-336-6030.
