New poll: Americans less trustful of government under Obama
Americans have grown more critical, less trusting -- and even fearful -- of government since President Barack Obama took office, according to a new study being released today.
The poll found that Americans not only rejecting the idea of an activist government, but a growing number want to see its powers curtailed.
"By almost every conceivable measure, Americans are less positive and more critical of government these days," said the report from the nonpartisan Pew Research Center.
Nearly 80 percent of those polled said they can't trust the federal government. Nearly half said government negatively affects their daily lives.
The study is being released exactly 15 years since 168 people were killed in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and nearly nine since Timothy McVeigh died by lethal injection for that attack.
