U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Georgia) will be at Central Piedmont Community College’s central campus on Thursday to discuss his award-winning documentary, “Come Walk in My Shoes,” which looks at his experiences during the Civil Rights movement.

The film follows Lewis on an emotional journey to the churches, parks and bridges where young people played a role in the struggle for equality and voting rights. Following the movie screening, Lewis will answer questions from the audience.

The discussion will be moderated by Tom Hanchett, staff historian for the Levine Museum of the New South.

This event is free and open to the public.
