Five city employees allege that City Council member Warren Turner made sexually inappropriate comments to them, according to a much-anticipated report released Monday night.

Turner, who has represented west Charlotte since 2003, says he did nothing wrong.

The report was prepared by the law firm Moore & Van Allen at the request of Council.

City Council voted to investigate after a female city staffer complained that Turner, who is married, made suggestive comments. The subsequent investigation revealed four other female city employees who allege that the, too, were subjected to remarks or touching by Turner.

The investigators noted that Turner generally denied all allegations of improper conduct.

“While there are certain conflicting factual accounts,” the report reads, the investigators found “credible and consistent” evidence that the allegations against Turner are true.
