A shootout at a popular Rock Hill nightclub has left one person dead and two others injured.
According to reports, the shootings happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday at The Money, located just across Cherry Road from Winthrop University.
Rock Hill Police Lt. Brad Redfearn was quoted as saying the shooting followed an armed robbery attempt of a band playing at the club.
Members of the band, called Parmalee, were in an RV in the parking lot when two suspects came into the RV and attempted to rob the band members. Both sides pulled out guns and started shooting.
One of the suspected robbers was killed. The second suspect and a band member were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Police did not immediately release any names.
The Money has long been a favorite spot for Winthrop students.
