The stars weigh in on Casey Anthony Verdict

News of Casey Anthony's acquittal in the death of her two-year old daughter Caylee spread like wildfire. Not since the OJ Simpson trail has the nation been so captivated by a murder case. Many of your favorite celebrities took to Twitter voicing their opinions about the verdict, and here is some of what they had to say:

Anita Baker wants to know where the proof is. "Innocent until PROVEN guilty … No cause of death. If you don't know HOW it happened, you can't say [whodunit]," she tweeted.

Actor Boris Kodjoe was angered by the verdict. He tweeted, “Speechless! All I can think of is the baby. So angry! WTF.”

CNN’s Don Lemon tweeted, "Just from the little bit I saw there was no 'smoking' gun, fingerprints, eyewitness in #CaseyAnthony trial. #CNN #NotGuilty #reasonabledoubt"

Holly Robinson Peete got emotional. "My heart is pounding, I just sweat through my shirt and we are about to go on the air ... #justiceforcaylee"

As always, Marlon Wayans added a little humor. "Casey Anthony aka WHITE O.J," he tweeted.

Niecy Nash was put off by the post-verdict celebration. "I understand being relieved if [you're] found not guilty but all the smiling & laughing when [your] child is dead is ridiculous & offensive:(. Wow …"

Star Jones was upset as well. "While #CaseyAnthony lives 'Bella Vita' ... her 'beautiful life' ... a dead baby lies in the ground with no one to be held responsible."

Vivica A. Fox believes the verdict sends the wrong message to other teenage moms. "I mean, really?? WTH is this gonna teach teenage moms! Go party [and] lie to the cops about it and u too can get away with it?? WTF??"

Marsha Ambrosius says deception is an ugly monster. "So … Lie enough over a period of time to the point where you believe yourself. Possibly others believe you, too. Doesn't make you not guilty."

Ledisi’s message was a reminder that there is another judge. "Pray for that family and the spirit of that little girl. God always has the last say."

Justice for Caylee?

After the trial, Anthony’s lawyer Jose Baez held a press conference. He told reporters that his driving force throughout the entire trial was to “make sure that there was justice for Caylee.” He said a false conviction would dishonored her memory. “Casey did not murder Caylee,”

Nancy Grace, who helped take the local case national via her prime-time talk show on HLN, appeared stunned by the verdict. “There's no way this is a verdict that speaks the truth," she said on last night‘s show. "But this is our jury system."

Anthony’s parents, George and Cindy, reportedly left the courtroom without speaking to her. They released a statement through their lawyer, calling the defense baseless and saying they want to get on with their lives. They also said they believe the jury followed the judge’s orders and made a “fair decision” based on the evidence, testimony and scientific information presented.
