All-expense-paid D.C teen summit
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is accepting applications through April 22 for the Generation Green on Board: A Youth Summit to Advance Public Transportation.
This all-expenses-paid summit, which will take place June 26-30, will offer participants the opportunity to spend five days in Washington, D.C., meeting with lawmakers, leaders, and industry professionals, as they learn about the impact public transportation can have on the future.
"This event will empower the participating teens to become environmental leaders and public transportation advocates," said APTA President William Millar. "Additionally, the youth summit will highlight how public transportation is a green industry with many employment opportunities."
Applicants must be a high school junior or senior in the 2011-2012 school year. Visit www.apta.com/youthsummit, call (704) 336-3898 or send an email to lboyd@charlottenc.gov for more information.
