Police are investigating an overnight shooting at an uptown nightspot about a block from Time Warner Cable Arena.

The shooting happened shortly before 2 a.m. at the Breakfast Club in the 200 block of Caldwell Street.

Witnesses told police a man was confronted inside the club by a suspect who fired two shots. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries described by police as life threatening.

The suspect fled in what witnesses said was a royal blue Chevrolet with custom rims.
