Police are investigating a case of human remains found in a wooded area Saturday just off Tuckaseegee Road in west Charlotte.

The bones were reported to police in the 3300 block of Forestbrook Drive just after 11 a.m. The Mecklenburg medical examiner will try to determine a cause of death.

“At this early stage in the investigation, detectives are unable to determine the race, age or approximate length of time that the body has been in the woods,” said Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department spokesman Robert P. Fey.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
