Sorry, you can't all have the Ritz
The Democratic National Committee is holding its fall meeting in Chicago this week, and
we bet you’ll never guess one of the first items of business.
On Thursday, DNC convention officials were scheduled to hold a “housing lottery” in which each state delegation would draw numbers to determine the order in which they would choose hotel lodging for 2012.
Qcitymetro has no word yet on the order of finish – in other words, which delegation got first dibs on the Ritz-Carlton and which may be ensconced in Rock Hill’s finest – but we’ll keep you posted. (Delegations won’t actually make their lodging selections until fall.)
Also in Chicago, the Charlotte host committee will hold a welcome reception Friday night. Mayor Foxx and Democratic National Convention Committee CEO Steve Kerrigan will preview what DNC members can expect to see in the Qcity next year. ~ Glenn Burkins
