Suspect arrested in string of robberies
Davenon Farmer, wanted by police on suspicion that he robbed a west Charlotte grocery store Friday and shot at a CMPD sergeant during a subsequent foot chase, was arrested Wednesday.
According to police, Farmer and three others were arrested shortly after they allegedly robbed an individual in the 1200 block of Seilig Avenue at about 3:29 p.m.
Police said they cornered the group after a two-minute car chase up Interstate 77.
Also charged in the Seilig Avenue robbery were:
--Kedi Turnonda Harvell, 26 (armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and traffic charges relating to the I-77 pursuit)
--Michael Erwin Smith, 21 (armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm [2 counts], possession of firearm by felon, and possession of marijuana)
--Jarrett Terrell Edwards, 23 (armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm [2 counts], possession of firearm by felon, and possession of marijuana)
In addition to being charged in the Seilig Avenue robbery, Farmer also was charged with robbing the Thomasboro Grocery and shooting at the police sergeant.
Additionally, the four were charged with robbing an ABC store in the 4000 block of Brookshire Blvd. Wednesday morning.
