Thanksgiving shooting leaves 1 dead
Police are investigating a Thanksgiving night shooting that left one man dead in what detectives described as a drug deal gone bad in west Charlotte.
The victim’s name was not immediately released.
The shooting was reported to police at 10:37 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Ambassador Street near Tuckaseegee Road.
When officers arrived they found a black male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on initial witness statements, police said the victim and suspect were meeting to conduct a drug transaction when a brief altercation occurred and the suspect fired a shot.
