Three injured in late-night crash

CAR CRASH: A vehicle traveling on Brookshire Boulevard near Beatties Ford Road ran down an embankment around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Two of the three occupants were ejected after the vehicle rolled several times. All were taken to Carolinas Medical Center, one with possibly life-threatening injuries. Charges against the driver are pending.

ROBBERY/ASSAULT: A man arrived home in the 3700 block of Rocky Brook Court just before midnight Saturday and was approached by a group of young black males – all of them armed -- as he was getting out of his car. The victim was hit in the head, forced into the house and tied up. The suspects demanded money and began searching the house. They fled on foot after hearing sirens. The robbers took money and a cell phone. The victim's injuries were not life threatening.

ROBBERY: A victim in the 9000 block of E. W T Harris Blvd. was robbed at gunpoint by a black male around 11:16 p.m. Saturday. The suspect fled in a gray Jeep. The victim was not injured.

TREE CRUSHES HOME: A large tree fell on a home in the 1700 block of Seifert Circle just after 8 p.m. Saturday. Two people were inside at the time. A male resident was uninjured; a female was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

SEXUAL ASSAULT: A female reported being sexually assaulted Saturday by a male she met earlier that day. The victim told police the attack occurred inside her room. The incident happened around 4 28 p.m. on Tuckaseegee Road.

SEXUAL ASSAULT: Police are investigating a sexual offense involving an 8-year-old victim and an 18-year-old suspect. The Juvenile Victims Unit is assisting with the investigation. The incident was reported around 3:30 Saturday in the Westover division.

MAN FOUND DEAD: A male was found dead in the 800 block of Villa Court Saturday after a concerned neighbor, who had not seen the man in a while, went to check on him. The victim was in his 50's. Police believe the man died of natural causes.

SUSPECTED SICIDE: Police responded with paramedics to a death investigation call in the 9300 block of Mitchell Glen Dr. around 9:10 a.m. Saturday. The victim, a male, was found dead by a family member. Police suspect suicide.
