Three wounded in Sunday night club shooting
Three people were injured in a Sunday night shooting at the Get-A-Way Lounge on Wilkinson Boulevard, according to police reports.
Freedom Division officers received a call for service at 10:40 p.m. in reference to gunfire at the lounge. When they arrived, they found two victims with non-life-threatening wounds to their legs. A third person, later determined to be a suspect, was lying outside the lounge with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen.
According to witness statements to police, a dispute broke out inside the club and two people left. They returned later with at least one gun and began firing.
An employee of the club and a patron were each shot once in the leg. One victim was taken to Presbyterian Hospital and the other to Carolinas Medical Center. Another club employee fired back at the two suspects, striking one in the head; he was taken with life-threatening injuries to Carolinas Medical Center.
A second suspect fled the scene.
Police did not immediate release the names of those injured.
