Tiger is coming to Quail Hollow
Tiger Woods, winner of the 2007 Wachovia Championship and the No.1 ranked player in the world, committed today to play in next week's Quail Hollow Championship.
Woods will be making his fourth appearance at Quail Hollow. He missed the 2007 event because of knee surgery. Besides his victory two years ago, Woods finished T3 in 2004 and T11 in 2005.
This will be Woods' first appearance on the PGA tour since he finished tied for sixth at the Masters two weeks ago.
With Woods now committed, the Qcity event will host each of the top-four players: Woods (No.1), Phil Mickelson (No.2), Sergio Garcia (No.3) and Geoff Ogilvy (No.4).
Other players ranked in top 14 who have committed include: Padraig Harrington (No.6), 2005 champion Vijay Singh (No.8), Camilo Villegas (No.10), Robert Karlsson (No.11), 2008 champion Anthony Kim (No.13) and 2006 champion Jim Furyk (No.14).
The Charlotte Observer reports that Woods likely will arrive at Quail Hollow on Tuesday, when he will perhaps play a practice round. He will participate in the Wednesday pro-am.
