Police on Wednesday charged the driver of a Sears delivery truck with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in relation to a morning accident that killed two children, ages 1 and 5.

The accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. as the boys were walking with their father to a nearby daycare center.
According to a police report, the father told investigators that he and his children were walking along the edge of the road. The father was pushing a stroller while his 5-year-old son pushed another stroller.
The truck driver, police said, was attempting to make a right turn onto W. Tyvola Road when he struck two of the children and their father.
Both boys were pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center. The father and the other child were not injured, police said.
Police said the crash was still being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or contact Detective Kevin Allred at 704-336-8862.
