Police today arrested two 17-year-old women and charged them with murder in connection with the Sunday morning killing of a man in east Charlotte.

Arrested were Lizzette Celeste Drumgo (Top photo) and Jasmine Monai Johnson (Bottom photo.)

Each was charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. The women were being held at the Mecklenburg County jail.

Police say officers were called to the 1700 block of Chasewood Drive shortly after 2:20 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Once there, they found a victim, later identified as Kelvin Clark, 29, inside what appeared to be a vacant apartment. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clark’s death was Charlotte’s second homicide of 2010.
