It was another good weekend for Johnson C. Smith University basketball. In games against CIAA rival Livingstone College, the men’s team ran their record to 12-4 while the women improved to 14-1.

Saturday’s 84-66 victory over the Blue Bears of Livingstone marked the 10th straight win for the JCSU men, who are undefeated in the CIAA.

The JCSU women, meanwhile, picked up an easy 82-50 win against the Lady Blue Bears. Smith dominated from start to finish, with Livingstone trailing 45-22 at halftime and by as much as 33 points late in the second half. The Lady Golden Bulls suffered their only loss this season against Virginia State University, which pulled off a 66-56 win on January 15.

The JCSU women return to play on Tuesday, January 25, when they face North Greenville University. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Tigerville, SC. The men’s next game is against Fayetteville State University on Saturday, January 29. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Fayetteville.
