Venita Jamerson joins ASC
Venita Jamerson has joined the Arts & Science Council (ASC) as senior accountant.
Jamerson previously worked for the U.S. Census Bureau as a regional technician, responsible for technical and administrative support for recruitment personnel, payroll and office and evaluation operations. She earned three performance awards while there.
Prior to joining the Census Bureau, she worked for the Cleveland County Arts Council, the Cleveland County YMCA, the Black Coaches Association and the University of Minnesota.
Jamerson, a native of Kings Mountain. She holds a marketing degree from Howard University and a M.B.A. from Gardner Webb University.

Anthony Cureton, a Johnson C. Smith University sophomore track and field student-
athlete, was named the “Hercules Scholar” by the Tom Joyner Foundation.
The foundation named JCSU its school of the month for February.
Cureton maintains a 3.9 GPA and is a student ambassador in the president’s office. His life motto: “Stay Strong.” His future career goal is to become a reconstructive cosmetic surgeon.
Cureton is a native of Warren, Mich., and competes for the Golden Bulls in the hurdles for the men’s indoor and outdoor track and field team. He is also an acrobatic member of the Luv-A-Bulls cheer squad as a stunter and tumbler.
