W. Charlotte shooting leaves one injured, one dead
Police are investigating a double shooting in west Charlotte early Sunday morning that left one person dead.
Investigators so far have released few details, including the victims’ names.
CMPD said officers responded to a call at 3:39 a.m. in the 2700 block of Watson Drive. When officers arrived, they found two people shot. One was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main for treatment. The other was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on initial witness statements, police believe the suspect vehicle was a newer model dark-colored Chevy Impala with tinted windows. Detectives believe the shooting occurred on Camp Greene Street.
The dead victim’s name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.
