Good Morning Qcity! It’s Election Day! The polls are open 6:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. For more information on where you can cast your ballot check out the Board of Elections website.

Today the weatherman says expect patchy fog early in the day. It’s going to be a sunny day with a high near 70° and lows tonight in the low 40s.

Here’s what’s brewing in the news:

Why Conrad Murray could be out in less than a year

After being convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson, Conrad Murray could spend as little as a few months behind bars.

On November 29, trial judge Michael Pastor could sentence Murray to probation, home confinement or up to four years in state prison, but due to overcrowding in California prisons, a new law was adopted last month that sends low-risk prison inmates to county jails, where they are often released early because of a lack of space.

Monday, judge Pastor ordered him to jail for three weeks before sentencing. Since Jackson’s death, Murray has been free on $75,000 bail.

Stan Goldman, a professor at Loyola Law School, told Reuters that Murray being placed in custody “the biggest surprise of the entire trial.” He predicts that Murray will be sentenced to 3 or 4 years, but doesn’t think he’ll stay locked up for more than a few months.

"I'd be surprised if a year from today, Conrad Murray was still behind bars," he said.

If you were the trial judge in this case, would you sentence Conrad Murray to probation, home confinement or four years in state prison?

He said, she said

Meet Sharon Bialek. She’s a 50-year-old single mom. And just in case you missed it, it she’s also the fourth woman to come forward, accusing Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain of sexual misconduct.

Bialek says she came to Washington, D.C. to meet Cain with the intentions of finding employment back in the 1990’s, when he was president of the National Restaurant Association. She says they had dinner and drinks together, and then he inappropriately touched her in a parked car.

Cain said the accusations are false.

Before Bialek could finish addressing the media yesterday, the Cain campaign issued a statement denying any wrong doing. They called Bialek’s allegations “completely false” and “bogus attacks.” Cain told radio host Bill O’Reilly that his wife of 43 years had been “disgusted” by the allegations of sexual harassment made against him.

Study: 40% of male students report sexual harassment

Nearly half of seventh to 12th graders experienced sexual harassment at school last year, according to a survey released Monday by the American Association of University Women. The report found that 40 percent of boys reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment included anything from unwelcome sexual comments and jokes to physical gestures. Being called “gay” was the most common form of harassment experienced for boys, according to the findings. Most of the students reported that the harassment affected their productivity in school. The survey did not ask students to report how often they were harassed within the school year. But, according to Holly Kearl, co-author of the report, the finding that only 9 percent of students reported harassment to an adult suggests it is a larger problem than previously believed.
