Here’s what’s brewing in the news:
Did Bishop Eddie Long’s wife move out?
Bishop Eddie Long’s camp is denying rumors that his wife Vanessa Long has moved out of the couple's house, calling the claims "hateful and
damaging."
Last week, Morris O. Kelly reported in his blog The Mo’Kelly Report, that Vanessa moved out of the couple’s home months ago. He cited unnamed sources, which reportedly include current members and employees of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
In a email blast sent out on Tuesday to media outlets, excluding Kelly, New Birth spokesman Art Franklin said:
“In this new digital world, along with a steep decline in quality reporting, many people can’t discern the difference between legitimate journalists and irresponsible bloggers. Recently, some blog entries have surfaced claiming to have anonymous sources stating that New Birth First Lady Elder Vanessa Long has left her husband. That claim is completely and absolutely false. Mrs. Long is very much a loving, dedicated and committed wife and mother. It is unfortunate that anyone would make such hateful and damaging false claims of this nature.”
The statement goes to say: "Those involved should feel obligated to retract their earlier statements."
Kelly took the email personally, believing it was directly targeted towards him. In an email exchange with Franklin Kelly questions what other bloggers Franklin could be referring to. “Was there someone ELSE [sic] who broke and stayed on top of this story?,” Kelly asks. “Was there someone ELSE who was referenced in EVERY [sic] story regarding this around the net?”
Kelly also questioned why Franklin did not send a copy of the email to him, given the fact that he had reached out to the church for a statement prior to publishing the report.
Now, Kelly is also reporting that not only did Vanessa move out of their home, but she is also attending another church, he says.
QUESTION: What do you think Creflo Dollar would have to say about this?

Circumcision: Religious freedom or physical torture?
It’s a common tradition for some and to others, a religious rite, but to a group of anti-male genital mutilation advocates, it's just wrong and senseless. If they have their way, male circumcision will become illegal, at least in San Francisco.
A controversial referendum will be the November ballot in San Francisco that would make it the first major city in America to outlaw circumcision. If passed, it will be "unlawful to circumcise, excise, cut, or mutilate the whole or any part of the foreskin, testicles, or penis." Parents who have their sons circumcised would face jail time.
Some say a ban on circumcision would violate the First Amendment's religious f
reedoms. The only exception to the law would be in cases of medical emergencies.
Tina Kimmel, a retired epidemiologist for the State of California, helped spearhead the main anti-circumcision group in the Bay Area almost 20 years ago. She told Time magazine that she initially supported an exemption for religion but changed her mind. “Eventually I began to think, why shouldn't Jewish boys and Muslim boys be protected?” she said.
Still, others argue there are health benefits of circumcision. They say it is more hygienic and decreases the spread of STD’s, including HIV.
Do you think parents should be allowed to circumcise their sons, or should baby boys have the right to keep their foreskin? Is this a First Amendment, human rights or health issue?

Study: Infant formula linked to childhood diabetes
Speaking of babies, choosing the right formula could decrease a child’s risk of devel
oping diabetes, according to a new global study. The trial, published in the American Journal for Clinical Nutrition, showed that by age five, the signs of diabetes in children who switched over from breastfeeding to easily digestible hydrolyzed formula decreased by 50 percent when compared to infants who transitioned to other formulas and foods. "Short-term breastfeeding and early exposure to complex dietary proteins, such as cow milk proteins and cereals, or to fruit, berries, and roots have been implicated as risk factors," for type 1 diabetes, the authors wrote.(Read more here)
