Who will meet on Super Sunday?
The Final Four of the NFL playoffs is here, which means there will be plenty of interesting
story lines on Sunday.
Will the New York Jets’ powerful running game be enough to pull another monumental upset, or will the experience of NFL MVP Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts prove to be too much to overcome?
Can we expect to see an offensive shoot-out in New Orleans between the Saints and the Minnesota Vikings - two of the NFL’s highest-scoring teams - or will one of the teams falter and the game turn into a laugher?
Well, here’s what I’m predicting.
Sunday, January 24 – AFC Championship
New York Jets (11-7) at Indianapolis Colts (15-2) – 3 p.m. ET, CBS
The last time these teams met, the Jets ended the Colts’ chances at an undefeated regular season. Can they now end Indianapolis’ run to the Super Bowl as well? Not if Peyton Manning and the rest of the Colts have anything to do with it.
Indianapolis 28 – New York 20
Sunday, January 24 – NFC Championship
Minnesota Vikings (13-4) at New Orleans Saints (14-3) – 6:40 p.m., FOX
Two great teams with one legendary quarterback on one side, while on the other stands a younger signal caller who’s working on a resume of greatness. A win against Brett Favre and the Vikings would go a long way toward doing just that for Drew Brees, not to mention the Saints would get a long-awaited trip to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, Brees and the boys will have to wait another year.
Minnesota 31 – New Orleans 30
