Winning Powerball ticket sold in N.C.
For at least one lucky person in western North Carolina, the economic downturn is officially over.
A Powerball lottery ticket worth $141.4 million was sold at an Asheville convenience store, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Sunday.
According to the Associated Press, the ticket was sold at a Wilco Hess store.
The winning numbers were: 14, 22, 52, 54, 59, with the Powerball 4.
If the winner opts for a one-time payout, the ticket would yield $69.6 million after federal and state withholdings.
It's the third time that North Carolina has had a winner in the Powerball drawing since the state established a lottery on May 30, 2006, the AP reported.
