Brandon Blakeney

A 34-year-old Charlotte woman was found dead in her home Tuesday, and police have arrested her husband and charged him with her killing.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2000 block of Pheasant Glen Road, just north of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, after a family member called police to report that Catherine Elizabeth Ahern Blakeney had not been in touch with relatives.

When officers arrived, they were greeted by Brandon Oneal Blakeney, also 34, who allowed police to search the home for his wife, who was found dead inside.

Brandon Blakeney was taken to the Mecklenburg jail and booked on a murder charge.

Jail records show Blakeney was arrested at least twice in 2010. He was charged once with resisting an officer and once for unauthorized use of a vehicle and assaulting a female.
