Woman dies in SouthPark car crash
A 48-year-old woman died Friday morning in a single-car crash in the SouthPark area.
Armenthia Laceien Raynes was killed when her 2005 Suzuki Verona LX crashed head on into a tree in the 4000 block of Sharon Road, not far from the entrance to SouthPark Mall.
Raynes was a lone occupant in the vehicle.
According to police reports, the crash occurred around 5:37 a.m. when Raynes’ car stuck a tree on the right side of the street. She was trapped inside the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
A part of Sharon Road was closed for more than an hour as police investigated the crash.
