Employee found dead behind S. Charlotte restaurant
Police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old woman whose body was found behind a south Charlotte restaurant where she worked.
The victim was identified as Danielle Marie Watson, an employee of The Flying Biscuit Café in the 7900 block of Rea Road. Police said her death was a homicide but did not say how she died.
Police were called to the restaurant at 6:24 a.m. Saturday to investigate what was first thought to be a larceny. But while officers were still on the scene, an employee of a waste management company notified police that he had found a body behind the trash dumpster that he was attempting to empty. Police identified the body as Watson.
Police released a photo (below) of Watson’s 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, which was unaccounted for at midday Saturday. Police said the car is baby blue with two doors, N.C. license plate ZYX1952. Anyone who sees it is asked to call 911.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
