If you look closely today at Qcitymetro.com you’ll notice something different.

See, up there among the green navigation buttons; we have a new category called “Voices.” It’s where our new bloggers live.

That’s right; we now have blogs.

We continue to add new features based on reader feedback. And we’re just warming up. Over the months ahead you’ll see other additions to this site. (More on that in just a bit.)

Today, we introduce our blog lineup:

  • The “Style Essentials” column is now a blog. That means Lashawnda Becoats moves from writing each Thursday to filing regular blog updates.
  • Sondra E.Z. Hines, who writes the “No More Excuses!” fitness column, has found a new home as well.
  • Spike Spillberg, aka Troy Whitehurst, begins a motivational blog, “What Do You Think?”
  • T. Strong will be taking your relationship questions in a new blog called “It is what it is.”
  • Lindsay Pollard will be writing the Qcity’s newest music blog, “Lyrically Speaking.”
  • Then there’s me. I’ll be posting to “Inside the Q,” the official blog of Qcitymetro.com. Expect a little of everything – news, opinion, site update and reader feedback.

Not only will you find your favorite blogger living under the “Voices” button, we’ll also feature them regularly on the homepage or on the Faith, Living or News pages. We hope you will join their conversations.

So, where do we go from here?

We can’t show all of our cards just yet, but a lot depends on you. What new features, coverage or blog topics would you like to see on this site? Maybe you’d like to propose your own blog or become a community columnist. Sports and politics are topics always in demand.

Drop me some feedback in the comments section below.

Keep up the good work. It's good to have a first-class news outlet for items of interest to Charlotte African-Americans and really anybody who wants news out-the-box. I love this site!
