As a massage therapist, Juliette Chambers wanted the best products to use on her clients, so she created her own line, Beannie's Body.

Her all-natural skincare line includes scrubs, hair oil and body melts

My favorites are the Honey Brown Sugar scrub ($20, 16 oz.) and the Chocolate Deluxe Body Melt ($8.50, 4 oz). The Honey Brown Sugar scrub has a thick, coarse texture, and when rubbed on your skin it dissolves quickly and leaves a layer of moisturizing natural oils. The Chocolate Deluxe Melt is a moisturizer that smells like your favorite chocolate bar. Massage it into your skin and you’ll smell good enough to eat.

I asked the Charlotte native five questions about her product line, which she has been making for five years.

Q. What sets your products apart from others?

The ingredients. Everything that’s in the name is in my product. For example, with the Minty Eucalyptus scrub, it has crushed mint leaves and crushed eucalyptus. The scalp oil has the plant in the products.

Q. How difficult is it to produce your own line?

It really wasn’t that difficult. You try products on yourself and others. You do the research and figure out what mixes together well and what is good for the skin.

Q. I’ve notice that natural products go rancid quickly. Do yours do that?

One thing people shouldn’t do is store body scrubs in the shower. Moisture from the shower tends to make the sugar in the scrub dissolve quicker. Store scrubs in a dry place between showers.

Q. What other products do you hope to add to your line?

I’d like the line to go national. I intend to add a hair locking gel, facial products and something special for men.

Q. Where are your products sold?

They’re sold on my website: www.beanniesbody.com and locally at Zoe Nails Salon, Verve' Beauty Spa and Salon and East 7th St. Barber and Salon spa.
